Showreel Updated

I’ve changed my showreel to incorporate the animation I did for Cartoon Network on a few Pink Panther promos for their Boomerang Channel.

Drabblecast

I recently read Higher Than Usual, a story about on the excellent Drabblecast. The story is of internecine warfare, a higher than usual rate of violence, and those bastards in accounts. I had galloping hay fever when I read it, so I had to adjust the character voice accordingly.

The Mummy Of Mulberry Avenue

Mummy Book Cover

I did this book cover for The Mummy Of Mulberry Avenue by Susan Kassabian, using Flash, Photoshop (mainly), and an Open-source 3D program called Blender for the amulet in the middle. Overall, I’m very pleased with how it turned out! Click the pic for the full-sized cover.

Silent films in February

If you want to see some pictures of me on a beach at Reculver in Kent in February, go here. it was a short film for Anke, a friend of mine and the photos are by Claire, a mutual friend who came along to help with the shoot.
It was intensely cold, but fun to do. I haven’t managed to find a link to the film but will post it when I find it.

Lady Geek App-ocalypse

I wrote the script for this new episode of the Lady Geek App Show. It features a not-entirely-terrifying zombie apocalypse. And shopping.

GUARANTEED LAUGH

I have found out that using three or more synonyms for the word “Nothing” is a SURE-FIRE formula for LAUGHS APLENTY. The more synonyms you can find and put in, the bigger the laugh.

For example

“Nothing, nada, nil!”.

But wait…
“Nothing, zip, zilch, zero, nada, bupkis!!!”

But before you go putting this SURE-FIRE DEAD-CERT GUARANTEED HOWLER into your comedic scripts be aware that I have registered copyright on this phrase and if you don’t pay me to use it I will SUE YOU.

Chilly Dip

I’m a pretty poor swimmer. But since I swam in the sea on holiday a few years ago, I can see what all the fuss is about. So I decided to try swimming in Hampstead Mixed Bathing Pond – in May. The water was so cold that I got in and straight out again.
A couple of weeks later the weather had warmed up and I went in again, this time swimming as far as the first lifebelt (eight of which are arranged in a rough square to give swimmers a visual cue for doing laps) and, slightly panicky, swam back to the ladder.
Since I have asthma, I’ve always been a bit worried about not being able to catch my breath, and the pressure of water, especially cold water, makes it harder to breathe – I end up gasping for air, tensing up, and it gets very hard to swim.
But this morning I successfully completed three laps around the pond, feeling like I could have done more!

New Showreel

Here’s my new showreel. It doesn’t include the promos I directed and animated for Cartoon Network, they’ll have to come later.
